Bako National Park
Bako National Park is the oldest national park in Sarawak, Malaysia, located about 30 minutes journey by boat from Kampong Bako, Sarawak. It takes about 40 – 50 minutes drive from the Kuching town. Bako Park and the village both are mangrove-rich (i.e. bakau, i think that’s where the name Bako comes from).

Bako National Park is rich with its rainforest abundant of wild life, jungle streams, waterfalls and trekking trails. If you’re planning for a trip to Bako, the best is to stay here for 1 or 2 days so ensure you make early arrangement for the lodging and accommodation. Otherwise you’ll be out for disappointment as the lodgings there can easily be fully booked. And this was what happen to me and the other 2 friends who left it too late before making the necessary arrangement. As a result, we did not manage to book any accommodation.
